We arrived just before noon on a Monday, at which time only one table was occupied - no need to worry about queuing then! Although you can get individual tables or booths, most of the seating is around long bench-style tables. So a couple might sit facing each other between two other parties. In common with many Japanese and tapas restaurants, food is ordered and arrives as and when it's ready, you can order something else at any time, and table turnaround is pretty quick. Wagamama specialise in big bowls of noodles with different toppings and miso-style broths - yum. I usually go for one of the ramen noodle bowls, but decided to try kare lomen, noodles with prawns in a coconut soup. It arrived in a nice big bowl with a ladle-style spoon, with a fresh coriander garnish. It was a lot spicier than I'd anticipated, comparable with a Thai red curry, and there were just five prawns in it, but I enjoyed it. There's something very comforting about such a big bowl of noodles! Meanwhile hubby had the yaki udon, served on a plate rather than in a bowl, and in a smaller portion. On the side we had edamame beans in salt, two fresh fruit juices, and one green tea. We also tried to order flowering tea but they were out of stock. The bill came to £27.60. Ideal for lunches and quick dinners, and my kare lomen kept me going until 4pm, which is of course tea and cake time.....
