The Place to Eat, John Lewis, Aberdeen

4pm, time for tea! Starbucks (never my first choice anyway) was full, so we tried John Lewis instead, and it was practically empty. As an aside, I'm never going into town at the weekend again - it's so much quieter during the week! £6.05 bought us a bottle of J20, a pot of earl grey tea (with lemon on the side), and a generously proportioned date and ginger slice. John Lewis are actually pretty generous with their portions; the scones, cakes, and traybake slices are pretty big, and their sandwiches are huge! But this is not the cheapest place to eat either, so it all balances out. Service wasn't exactly "with a smile", in fact it was dismissive, but otherwise it was a civil affair - as you would expect from JL.
